Dr. Kellen Scantlebury earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stony Brook University and his Bachelor of Science from LIU Post, where he was a four-year starter on the Men’s Basketball Team. After graduating from LIU, his passion for fitness and helping others led him to earn a personal training certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. These early years laid the foundation for what would later become Fit Club NY. In 2013, Kellen became an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, specializing in preventative exercise, functional movement, and weight loss. During his time at Stony Brook, Kellen gained valuable clinical experience in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, preventative care, and adult rehabilitation — including the unique opportunity to work with and treat the New York Jets at their training facility. Over the course of his career, he has also worked with professional pickleball athletes and members of the New Zealand Olympic Sailing Team, further expanding his expertise in high-performance sports care.

Kellen has extensive experience treating a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders, with a special interest in sports rehab, performance training, manual therapy, post-operative rehabilitation, and shoulder and spine pathologies. More recently, he has developed a passion for external pelvic floor therapy, especially for female athletes seeking to improve their performance and reduce symptoms related to athletic and sports activities.

He has collaborated with some of New York City’s leading orthopedic physicians to ensure five-star quality care, delivered presentations at Fortune 500 companies on evidence-based strategies for injury prevention and ergonomic setup, and volunteered at the NYC Marathon. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.

In his free time, Kellen stays active playing basketball, weightlifting, and running, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends while exploring new places through travel.
