During his time at LaGuardia Community College, he actively pursued real-world experience as a Physical Therapist Aide, gaining valuable insights into the field. Jess also worked in various clinical settings during his rotations, ranging from inpatient post-op care to outpatient care focused on highly active individuals. Personal Life

Emma Millspaugh Kennedy received her doctor of physical therapy degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University. She received her BS in Exercise Science from the University at Buffalo, SUNY. While at UB she dual majored in Dance and has an extensive background in ballet, tap, and jazz dance technique. While in physical therapy school, Emma worked as a certified ASCM personal trainer where she was able to begin connecting her physical therapy education to training and performance. As a personal trainer, Emma worked with individuals to achieve their fitness goals through progressive exercise training. She also designed a group training program for competitive canoe racers during their offseason in preparation for their race season.
While at SUNY Upstate Medical Emma gained experience in multiple clinical settings including outpatient orthopedics, inpatient neuro rehabilitation, and pediatrics. Upon graduating from Physical Therapy school, Emma has pursued a career in outpatient orthopedics in NYC and has gained additional experience in working with geriatric populations. Emma’s true passion lies with working with active individuals who want to remain active throughout their life, whether it be recovering from injury, training with pain, or learning ways to maintain or improve fitness while aging.
Growing up in upstate New York, Emma is drawn to the outdoors and loves to get her exercise through activities like hiking, running, skiing, and canoeing. Emma is a member of the New York State Paddlesport Association and participates in endurance canoe racing throughout the warmer months. Dr. Kellen Scantlebury received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Stony Brook University. He received his bachelor’s of science degree from LIU Post, where he also was a four year starter on the Men’s Basketball Team. Upon graduating from LIU, Kellen’s passion for fitness and desire to help others inspired him to pursue a personal training certification from the American College of Sports Medicine. It was in these years that the foundation for Fit Club was established. In 2013 Kellen became an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, specializing in preventative exercise, functional movement, and weight loss.
During his time at Stony Brook, Kellen gained valuable experience in orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, preventative care, and adult rehabilitation. Kellen also had the rare opportunity of working with and treating the NY Jets at their training facility in New Jersey.
Kellen has experience working with a variety of musculoskeletal disorders and has special interest in sports rehab, performance training, manual therapy, post-operative rehabilitation, shoulder and spine pathologies. Kellen has collaborated with some of NYC’s finest orthopedic doctors to ensure 5 star quality care and service to his clients. Kellen has given presentations at Fortune 500 companies with regards to the latest evidence based practice on prevention of injury for the runner and ergonomic set up. Kellen has volunteered at the NYC marathon and is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association.
