Brett Nelson, DPT, earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California and is licensed to practice in both California and New York. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. His passion for physical therapy was built around helping active individuals not only recover from injury, but come back stronger, more confident, and performing at a higher level than before. Brett’s clinical background is rooted in orthopedic and sports performance rehabilitation. He has extensive experience designing and implementing return-to-sport programs for athletes recovering from ACL reconstructions, labral repairs, Tommy John surgeries, and rotator cuff repairs. While practicing in California, Brett worked closely with cash-based clients focused on golf and baseball performance, helping athletes bridge the gap between rehabilitation, strength training, and long-term performance.

His treatment style combines evidence-based orthopedic care with a performance-driven mindset. Brett takes a systems-based approach to assessment and treatment, looking beyond the site of pain to understand how the entire body moves and functions together. His goal is not just symptom reduction, but helping patients build sustainable movement patterns, improve resilience, and confidently return to the activities they love most.

Whether working with post-surgical patients, competitive athletes, runners, lifters, golfers, or active adults trying to stay ahead of injury, Brett is committed to delivering individualized care that meets each patient where they are while helping them reach their highest level of function.

Outside the clinic, Brett enjoys golfing, lifting, running, and exploring New York — giving him firsthand understanding of the demands active individuals place on their bodies and the importance of staying healthy enough to keep doing what you love.
